Lockerbie lamb goes over the border

My next outing, along with cousin Lulu, was a wee trip over the border to the Cumberland County show.
Assistant LB joined us this weekend but both LB and the manager were unusually quiet on the way down the road due to a late night the night before - apparently they had been to Nashville!
Turns out, though it was a concert of that name, held in Glasgow, not the real deal!

Cumberland show was being held in a lovely new showground which definitely met the approval of the manager - she didn't have to reverse her trailer into a parking spot!
The temperature was already soaring when we arrived at 8.30am and the sun shone all day long. This time tarpaulins were needed over the pens but not as more usually is the case to keep the sheep dry but to shade them from the sun.

This time I had three sheep to cheer on, while Lulu had four but and the end of the day honours were even again and amazingly Wallander and Whisper had repeated their feats from Lesmahagow winning the championships again.
That certainly made the manager and LB very happy!

Here's LB, looking cool in the shades,  in the ring with Whopper.

The manager was also delighted to catch up with friends Sarah and Stan who brought along Vin Diesel (no,no, not the real one!) who was born at Broomwell and we were all delighted when he won a first prize in his class.
Here he is (right) with Wallander who is his nephew.

There was lots of hilarity during the judging when a couple of exhibitors took the wrong sheep into the ring but Laura W and David M didn't want me to mention that - oops! 😂😂

Oh and finally - best picture of the day - of me and Lulu of course with Whisper trying to photo bomb our picture!

Next up, the Royal Highland Show.
