Shows 2011

Broomwell Johnny Depp followed up his 2010 success at the Great Yorkshire Show by taking this year's Ryeland Championship at the Royal Highland Show in June. Also taking a first prize was 'stablemate' Reivesley Sylvia, a gimmer bred by Colin Silver, Old Meldrum,  who joined the Broomwell flock after the Highland Show last year.

Johnny did not go to the Great Yorkshire Show, but one of his sons, Broomwell Paton, took second prize in the ram lamb class in his first ever show.

At a very, very wet Cumberland Show, Broomwell Jennifer, who had reared triplets this year, took the reserve championship and there were first prizes too for Reivesley Sylvia and Broomwell Piper, another of Johnny's sons. Once again, Johnny elected to stay at home in his field!

At Dumfries Show on August 6, it was Sylvia that took top honours, winning the breed championship. Reivesley Sylvia was bred by Colin Silver and her sire is Carden Horatio. There were also a first prize at Dumfries for Broomwell Piper.

The last show of the season was Moffat where Reivesley Sylvia and Broomwell Nomad (Buddy to his friends)  represented the Broomwell flock in the the any other breed section, both winning first prizes in the native section. The following day Buddy joined his new owners, the Henderson family from Perthshire.
